Michael Derk and Ann Kovach

Mary Ann and Richard Kovach of West Akron announce the engagement of their daughter, Ann Kovach, to Michael Derk, son of Mary Derk-Weiss of West Seneca and the late Ronald Derk. He is the stepson of Dennis Weiss.

Miss Kovach graduated from Copley High School in 1998 and Miami University of Ohio in 2002. She also received a master's degree in business administration from the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Fla. She is a senior analyst for BRS Properties Inc.

Her fiance graduated from St. Francis High School in 1994 and St. Bonaventure University in 1998. He received a master's degree in real estate finance from the University of California, Los Angeles. He is a senior director with Marcus and Millichap Capital Corp. in Long Beach, Calif.

A June 2008 wedding is planned.
