Meetings seminars People who are in a career transition or have lost their jobs are invited to join the Parachute Group in order to network with individuals in the same situation. The group meets at 10 a.m. every Tuesday and Wednesday, with Tuesday meetings held at the YWCA at 49 Tremont St., North Tonawanda, and Wednesday meetings at the Harlem Road Community Center, Community Room No. 1, 4255 Harlem Road, Amherst. The meetings include regular guest speakers who provide tips on resume writing and interviewing techniques, as well as former group members who return to the meetings after they have found jobs in order to share tips and ideas for finding a position. There are no fees or dues, and registration is not required. The meeting is independent of any other group or organization, and there is no charge to attend the sessions. For more information on the Parachute Group and the meetings, call Katy Shafer at 276-1117 or e-mail the group at parachute group@msn.com.
