Women in Balance supports patients at hospital

The Buffalo Athletic Club and Capello Salon and Day Spa are giving women the opportunity to support patients in need at Women & Children's Hospital of Buffalo during their "Women in Balance" event from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 26, at the new BAC for Women location at Colvin Boulevard and Eggert Road in Tonawanda.

Women are asked to bring a new pair of youth pajamas to be donated to the emergency room closet at the hospital. Children who come into the emergency room sometimes need clothing upon arrival or discharge.

The afternoon event includes a seminar called "Women in Balance," presented by BAC wellness director Mary Anne Cappellino. The seminar will reveal strategies to create life balance and help every woman live the life she wants.

Joe Freitas from Capello's, with two locations in Amherst, will speak about looking your personal best by taking care of your hair and skin. The BAC fitness staff will offer blood pressure and body-fat testing, while Capello's will offer a full makeover for two winners.

The cost to participate in the event is $45, which includes refreshments, a T-shirt and a Latin-inspired workout called "Zumba."

The "Women in Balance" event is open to the first 60 women who register. For information, contact Cappellino at 332-9632.
