Business News Medcotek Inc. has signed a licensing agreement with the University at Buffalo for use of a new technology that will advance the company's entry into the teleradiology market. Medcotek is one of 10 companies located in UB's Center for Excellence, and 28 companies are located in UB's incubator adjacent to the North Campus. CIPA Western New York IPA, Inc. named Dr. Cary F. Vastola as vice chairman of the board of directors. Vastola is a managing partner and physician at Primary Care of Western New York, located in Williamsville. He also serves on the Catholic Health System's board of directors and is treasurer of the WNY Osteopathic Medical Society. Northpointe Toastmasters holds its meetings from noon to 1 p.m. the first and third Thursday of each month at 25 Northpointe Parkway, Suite A, Amherst. Joan Weichmann of Amherst is serving as chairwoman of Women's Associates of the Buffalo Power Squadron's dinner and theater party for members and their friends on Friday, April 18, at Eddie Ryan's Restaurant in Lancaster. A viewing of "Maggie's Getting Married" at the Lancaster Opera House will follow. MetLife, in Williamsville, recently had staff recognized at the annual Leaders Conference: Kenneth W. Wolf, a 10-time qualifier of the Leader's Conference, and David J. Ungaro, an eight-time qualifier. Membership in the group is reserved for outstanding individuals who exemplify the highest standards of sales achievement and professionalism. Also, Abbey Kneeppel was awarded the "Super Starter" award in recognition of superior sales achievement. Donna Stuber of Amherst, client services director for Fichter Wealth Management Inc., a Williamsville investment firm, has been honored as Assistant of the Year by its corporate office, Securities America Inc. She was selected on the basis of leadership abilities and service above and beyond what is expected for their clients, representatives and the firm.
