Robert B. Tufte, purchasing director for Williamsville schools

Robert Benson Tufte, 81, of Clarence, died Sunday, March 30, 2008, at the Indian River Medical Center in Vero Beach, Fla.

Mr. Tufte was born Dec. 9, 1926 in Lackawanna and was a winter resident of Vero Beach for 15 years.

Prior to his retirement, he had been the purchasing director for the Williamsville School District. Mr. Tufte was also a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army.

Survivors include his wife, Jeanne F. Tufte of Clarence and Vero Beach; sons, Robert Tufte Jr. of Clarence and David Tufte of Cedar City, Utah; and five grandchildren.

There are no services planned at this time.

Arrangements are under the direction of Cox-Gifford-Seawinds Funeral Home and Crematory in Vero Beach.
