New women, minorities committee needs members

The Amherst Town Board approved the creation of a Minority and Women-Owned Business Committee at its Monday meeting.

Members must live in Amherst, but their business does not have to be located in the town.

Each board member will appoint a member.

The intent is for the committee to meet monthly to create a mission statement and to represent and work with minorities and women who own businesses.
