Fundraiser dance will support EDS research

The Western New York Branch of the Ehlers-Danlos National Foundation will be sponsoring the Rock for Research Dance to raise support for the Ehlers-Danlos National Foundation Research Fund at 7 p.m. Saturday, May 10 at the Knights of Columbus, Father Justin Council 5670 banquet rooms, 2735 Union Road, Cheektowaga.

"Awareness, education, and the funding of research are important to finding out more about EDS, diagnosing EDS and treating EDS," said Dawn DeWein, who suffers from the disease. There is no dedicated government funding for EDS, she said.

The event will be held in conjunction with EDS Awareness Month in May. It will feature music by DJ Fred Ohlson, as well as dancing, refreshments, auction and raffles. Tickets are $20. For more information, contact Judy King at 628-4966.
