Amherst Girls Softball accepting registrations

Amherst Girls Softball is preparing for its 35th season with open registration.

Girls from grades pre-kindergarten to 12 who reside in the Town of Amherst or in the Williamsville Central, Amherst Central or Sweet Home Central School Districts are eligible.

AGS is the largest softball program in Amherst, with more than 700 girls participating last year. AGS stresses fun and learning, especially with younger girls, with an emphasis on positive encouragement regardless of physical ability.

Girls with special abilities have the opportunity to try out for age-appropriate independent travel teams (through age 23). Last season, the Lightning travel teams distinguished themselves in state, regional and national competition.
