Auditions

• JEWISH REPERTORY THEATRE - The Jewish Repertory Theatre will hold open auditions for actors for possible casting in productions for the 2008-09 season and other projects. The directors are interested in seeing men and women with professional experience of all ages and of all ethnic backgrounds (need not be Jewish to audition). Applicants will prepare two contrasting, contemporary monologues for a combined time of no more than 5 minutes. Auditions will be held from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday, April 26 at the Jewish Community Center, 787 Delaware Ave., Buffalo. For an appointment, call 688-4114.

• TOWNE PLAYERS - The Towne Players will hold auditions for Michael Parker's American farce, "Whose Wives Are They Anyway?" Director Glenn Jumper needs eight men and women ages 20 to 50 to perform in the play. Auditions will be held from 7-9 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, April 7 and 8 at the Sheridan Parkside Community Center, 169 Sheridan-Parkside Drive, Town of Tonawanda. Anyone interested in working behind the scenes is encouraged to attend. Late May performances dates are anticipated. For more information, call 693-9641.

• BATAVIA MUSICAL SOCIETY - The Batavia Musical Society will be holding auditions for its summer production of "Urinetown: The Musical," fro m 6:30-10:30 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, April 7 and 8 at the John Kennedy Elementar y School, 166 Vine St., Batavia. Sought are three male leads, three female leads, nine male supporting roles, four female supporting roles and six to eight ensemble cast members. Auditioners are asked to prepare a 16-bar audition song, no a cappel la. Dance and movement will be taught at auditions. Also casting for featured tap dancers (bring appropriate dance shoes). Those auditioning for speaking roles will read from the script. Rehearsals are April 14-June 19, and performances are June 20-22.
