• COOL SCIENCE SERIES - Thanks to a unique partnership between the Buffalo Museum of Science and the Buffalo & Erie County Public Library System, youngsters in the City of Buffalo will have the opportunity to enhance their literac y and science skills through a free fun-filled series of programs offered in all city library branches during the next three months. Four weekly after-school programs, designed for children ages 8-12, give students the chance to learn through "doing, talking, reading and writing about science. The Museum of Science's educational arm, The Center for Science Learning, provides the instructional staff and the science units. Programs include, "Get Sparked," "Outrageous Ooze," "GeoTectives" and "Blasting Off." Registration for "Cool Science" is required. • ARDEN CONCERT CANCELED - "An Evening with Jann Arden," originally scheduled and postponed for Friday, Feb. 15, at the University at Buffalo's Center for the Arts, will not be rescheduled at this time. Tickets purchased online or by phone will be automatically refunded. All others must be returned to the point of purchase to receive a refund.

• JAZZ UP BUFFALO F UNDRAISER - The Buffalo Mural Arts Program is holding a fundraiser to Jazz Up Buffalo, particularly the Broadway-Fillmore District. The public can help raise money for supplies and artists to begin the mural project, sponsored by Mike Kuzma and Aniela Baj of Councilmember David Franczyk's office. The fundraiser will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 10 at the Tudor Lounge, 335 Franklin St., Buffalo. The event will feature live music, drink specials and a ticket auction. • HOURS OF OPERATION - Old Fort Niagara has new operating hours, which are now in effect. Hours of operation are 9 a.m.-5 p.m. January through June; 9 a.m.-7 p.m. July through August; and 9 a.m.-5 p.m. September through December. Old Fort Niagara is closed on Thanksgiving Day (U.S.), Dec. 25 and Jan. 1. Admissions end one half-hour before closing time. For more information, call 745-7611 or visit www.oldfortniagara.org.

• CONCERT POSTPONED - The Zuri & Power to End Stroke concert will be held at 11:30 a.m. at the Crowne Plaza in Niagara Falls, and 5:30 p.m. at the Hearthstone Manor in Depew on Saturday, April 26. Tickets will be honored at that time, and are $30 for the afternoon show and $40 for the evening performance. For more information, call 380-2513.
