Daniel A. Caputi, retired vice president of marketing for Blue Cross Blue Shield
Daniel A. Caputi, 85, of Amherst died Thursday, March 20, 2008 at Millard Fillmore Gates Hospital.

Born Nov. 27, 1922, Mr. Caputi was a lifelong resident of Amherst.

Mr. Caputi was a graduate of Hutchinson Central Technical High School in 1940 and a recipient of the Bronze Star from his World War II service in the 69th Signal Battalion.

He graduated from the University of Buffalo with an accounting degree and worked at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Western New York from 1949 to 1988, retiring as vice president in charge of marketing.

He was also a member of St. Leo the Great church.

Mr. Caputi is survived by his wife, Florence; daughters, Donna Kaputa, Carol Caputi and Lisa Palombo; sons, Daniel Jr., Robert, Richard and Paul; sister, Marie Milazzo; brothers, Michael, Nicholas, John and James; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services were held Tuesday, March 18 at the Amigone Funeral Home Inc.
