Shanor Electric Supply buys Royalite, Lighting for less

Shanor Electric Supply has purchased Royalite Lighting and Lighting for Less. The merged entity is headquartered at 285 Hinman Ave., in Buffalo and has four locations:

• 3035 Niagara Falls Blvd., Amherst (Shanor Lighting Center)

• 3605 North Buffalo Road, Orchard Park (Shanor Lighting Center)

• 3355 Sheridan Drive, Amherst (Royalite Lighting)

• 3349 Sheridan Drive, Amherst (Outlet store-Lighting for Less)

John R. Shanor, president of the newly merged company said, "Our similar cultures, vision and values have allowed us to create a smooth transition for our employees and customers."

Dean Gottesman, former president of Royalite Lighting and Lighting for Less, will remain as executive vice president.

"Shanor Electric Supply and Royalite Lighting have 130 combined years serving the Western New York community," he said. "This merger of the two largest and oldest lighting retailers in the market is a tremendous win for our customers. We now have the largest combined lighting showrooms in New York State and one of the largest in the eastern United States."

Product lines include residential and commercial lighting fixtures, electrical supplies, landscape and outdoor lighting and bulbs, as well as accent furniture, lamps, mirrors, lampshades, ceiling fans, artwork and accessories.
