Squirt Red Wings double up Blue Sabres

The Squirt Red Wings beat the Blue Sabres, 6-3.

Blue Sabre Erin Jozwiak (Brendan Quagliana) opened the scoring. Red Wings' Nick Vermilye (Michael Kreuz, Griffin Dunkle) and Peter Gossels (Brandon Blatz, Marisa Notaro) scored on pretty passing plays.

Tim Kreuz (Hunter Noll, Adam Mills) and a second by Gossels (Notaro, Blatz) scored as did Blue Sabre Jake Fuzak (Swiantek) to end the first period. Quagliana scored about four minutes into the second.

Red Wing Karim Hassanali (Nick Vermilye, Connor Tanevich) responded.

Kreuz (Gossels, Noll) scored his second in the third.

The Red Wings failed to move on by virtue of tiebreakers.

Red Wings 2, Bruins 2

The Bruins jumped out to a two-goal lead and the Red Wings battled back.

The Bruins and Wings skated to a scoreless first period with the stars being the goalies, Joe Burke (Wings) and Alex Bender (Bruins).

Early in the second, Garrett Darraugh scored on a nice individual effort. Just before the end of the period, Ben Battaglia (Tyler Tiede and Sean Brown).

The Wings finally opened the scoring with a goal by Tim Kreuz (Peter Gossels, Andrew Goss).

Five minutes later, Ellie Garrity (Karim Hassanali and Peter Gossels) slammed home a rebound.

Red Wings 6, Rangers 3

Brothers Tim and Michael Kreuz scored natural hat tricks on Jan. 6.

Tim Kreuz (Hunter Noll, Connor Tanevich) scored less than two minutes in followed about five minutes later by Marisa Notaro and Ellie Garrity.

With two minutes remaining in the second, Kreuz (Karim Hassanali, Nick Vermilye) finished his natural hat trick.

Michael Kreuz scored two late goals from Marisa Notaro and Andrew Goss and Hunter Noll and Peter Gossels. Kreuz (Peter Hillery, Garrity) completed his natural hat trick with about four minutes remaining in the third.

Ben Glajch, Nick Bucello and Brian Kowalski (Chris Zenger) scored for the Rangers.
