Squirt Flyers skate to 5-2 win on Super Sunday

The Flyers beat the Rangers, 5-2, on Super Sunday to win the Squirt championship. The Squirt Flyers skated to a 5-2 victory over the Rangers on Super Sunday.

Flyers' Brian Wiktorowski (Max Marko) and Kyle Conover (Noah Bachwitz, Matt Mirand) made it 2-0 after the first period.

Wiktorowski (Bachwitz) slammed home a loose puck. Mirand (Bachwitz) closed out the second after weaving his way through the Rangers' defense. Mirand teamed up with Wiktorowski to make it 5-0.

The Rangers fought back on goals from Adam Teach and Christian Baran (Teach).

Ranger goalie Brian Kowalski played strong.

The Flyers were coached by Marc Rosenthal and Scott Mosher and assistant coaches Mark Mirand and Jim Bachwitz.

Semifinals

Flyers 4, Stars 1

After nearly two scoreless periods, the Flyers' Matt Mirand scored unassisted.

In the third, Mel Muchnik (Noah Rosenthal, Kyle Conover) fired home a loose rebound.

The Stars rallied to within one goal when Richard Bruno (Anthony Macchia) scored.

With just over two minutes remaining, the Flyers' Andrew Mosher (Brian Wiktorowski) skated through four Stars and scored top-shelf on a short-handed breakaway to give the Flyers a 3-1 cushion with 1:15 left.

Hudson Milligan added an empty net goal with 33 seconds remaining.

Alex Streng played yet another strong game in net.

The game puck was awarded to Dylan Birzon.
