Buffalo In-Line Hockey Group hits midway mark The theoretical midseason mark of Buffalo In-Line Hockey Group's winter season hit last Saturday. Major division Reds 11, Blackhawks 10 (shootout) The No. 1 and 2 teams in the division met and the game was decided on a Greg Newman (Tonawanda) shootout goal. Taylor Setlock tied the game up with only 1:17 left in regulation. The division leading Blackhawks had their lead chopped to one point. Vikings 8, Mulecats 1 The Vikings won with another passing clinic and squeaky tight defense. David Campuzano and Chad Loughran (Amherst) led the offensive effort. Mike Heberlien and Phil Mayer (Amherst) keyed the defense. Warriors 9, Killer Pandas 6 Pat Smith (Amherst), Gary Colarco and Nick Shearer (Kenmore) were the big guns for the Warriors. Snipers 11, Stealth 6 Eric Wright and Evan Dressel (Amherst) scored 10 of the 11 Sniper goals with Jed Bass getting the other. Nick Durante scored four goals in a losing effort. Crush 12, Firestorm 7 Rob Russell (Tonawanda), Kevin Eberth (Cheektowaga) and Ryan Okon (Lancaster) have been the three big scorers and nothing changed here. Brad Owens (Tonawanda) continued his strong play for the Firestorm. Junior division Orangemen 5, Maroons 4 James Empfield scored the game winner with 4:20 left in the game to give the Orangemen the win. Sharks 9, Knights 3 The Sharks took control of this game early and never let it go. Adam Terragnolli (Amherst) and Matt Dickinson led the Sharks' attack. The Knights still lead the division by one point. Gladiators 9, Penguins 3 Nick Antoniadis and Ben Speyer have led the Gladiators since game one and did so again in this game, scoring seven of the nine goals. Shawn Allen was strong in net.
