Pre -K registration under way in Williamsville District

The registration process for the Williamsville Central School District Universal Pre-Kindergarten program has begun.

The program is available free of charge and is currently offered at four area preschools and day care centers. Parents are responsible for providing transportation to and from the program, which meets daily for two and a half hours.

Residents, as determined by district census data, who have a child turning 4 years old by Dec. 1, 2008 have been contacted to determine interest in the Pre-K program. Families interested in the Universal Pre-K Program who have not received a letter from the school district, are encouraged to contact the Office of Student Services at 626-8027 to receive information about the program.

The number of children accepted in the program is limited. Selection is made by lottery. As such, interest does not guarantee participation. Confirmation of class placement is generally made after the state budget is adopted and funding for the Universal Pre-K program is granted. Families selected for enrollment will be notified by mail.
