Monsignor Robert E. Zapel, pastor of St. Leo the Great Church in Amherst, was elected to chair the board of members for the Catholic Health System. The board of members is composed of representatives from Ascension Health, the Diocese of Buffalo and Catholic Health East.

The American Diabetes Association will hold a cycling clinic for its annual cycling event fundraiser, the Tour de Cure, from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 20 at Tom's Pro Bike at 3687 Walden Ave., Lancaster. The cycling clinic will be presented by Tom Lonzi, and the topic will be basic bicycle maintenance. Tour de Cure participants and interested riders can come to the clinic to get more information about the event on May 31, 2008 and to register.
