The Amherst Women's Interclub Council is sponsoring a Women's History Month Luncheon on Saturday, March 29, 2008 in the Main Room of the Amherst Museum.
A basket auction will begin at 11 a.m., and the luncheon will be served at 12:30 p.m., followed by the presentation of awards and a special program. Tickets for the event are $25 per person, and reservations can be made by calling Patricia Lucey at 835-8718.
The Women's Interclub Council represents members of many of the women's organizations in the Amherst area. Since 2000, the council has sponsored the annual luncheon to honor women and organizations that have made significant contributions to the community.
Marilyn Ciancio will be honored for her work as producer and host of Artscope! and her support of the arts community. The luncheon will also honor the University at Buffalo Center for the Arts for its contribution to Western New York arts and culture.
The Women's History Month luncheon raises money to support the Amherst Museum through the adoption of the Sweet Home School, one of the museum's historic Amherst buildings.
