Harlem Road reconstruction enters final season

The second year of the Harlem Road reconstruction project will resume Tuesday, April 1, with the first phase of work for the season beginning at Seton Road and continuing north to Cleveland Drive where the first of three roundabouts will be installed.

Laser fences would alert drivers to deer/animals

In the black of night, a driver's headlights illuminate a deer's small eyes, leaving only seconds to react. Often it's too late, as deer-vehicle accidents remain a problem in town. Several programs, some controversial, have been implemented to control the deer population and reduce accidents.

Amherst police responded to October Lane late Friday where an 18-year-old man had allegedly forced his way into a home and assaulted those inside. Paul Tagliarino, of October Lane, has been charged with felony assault, resisting arrest, criminal possession of a weapon, burglary and menacing.
