Titan swimmers find pot of gold at Shamrock meet The Town of Tonawanda Titans sent 73 athletes to the Shamrock swim meet March 1-2. Titans athletes set four new club records and took home 153 lifetime best swims. The following swimmers from Amherst fared well. Lauren Phillips set four new Titans' club records in the 50 freestyle, 100 individual medley, 200 backstroke and 200 butterfly. Phillips earned United States Eastern zone qualifying times in the 50 and 100 breaststroke, 100 IM, 50 back and 50 free. Olivia MacDonald slashed 18.51 seconds from three events. Mac- Donald earned a new "BB" time in the 100 breast. Hayley Hofmar-Glennon swam an incredible 100 IM, cutting 12.38 seconds from the event. Allison Kopas had personal best "A" times in the 100 breast and 200 free. Lara MacDonald had only personal best swims, eliminating 13.49 seconds from her events. Haley Epstein eliminated 10.29 seconds from five events. Emily Smith had a new personal best "BB" times in the 100 fly and 50 back. Aleza Epstein earned personal best times in the 50 free and 50 back ("AA") 50 fly and 200 free ("A") and 50 and 100 breast ("BB"). Amanda Poppas eliminated 3.26 seconds from her 25 back. Kirsten Berg swam an exciting personal best 200 back, trimming 4.08 seconds from the event. Clara Judas had a personal best "BB" time in the 50 free. Choke McDonald dropped 2.92 seconds from three events. Tom Mitchell had personal best swims in the 50 and 100 free. Phoebe Blipped had two great first time swims. Sam Cirrhosis was a force in five events. Nina Anders was delightful through three swims. Julia Mitchell worked hard in two events.
