Community News Griffin Kramer, 14, was awarded a second-place finish at the Toronto Kiwanis Music Festival in the grade 10 - romantic period event. He was awarded fourth place in the contemporary grade 10 event. Griffin studies with pianist Mary Handley and has also received first-class honors for the Royal Conservatory of Toronto's grade 9 piano and grade 2 theory examinations. He is a ninth-grader at Amherst High School. Griffin is the son of Randy Kramer and Lisa Ludwig of Amherst. The General Pulaski Association held its annual wreath-laying ceremony on March 7 at the General Pulaski statue on Main Street in Buffalo. Placing the wreath from Amherst were Jerry Inda, secretary of the association; Brian Rusk, president; Deborah Bruch Bucki, Amherst Town Board member; Judge Carl L. Bucki, chief judge of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court Western District of New York; Patrick W. Welch, director of Veterans Services for Erie County; and Craig R. Bucki. The Amherst Recreation Department will present a Spring Break Program for children grades kindergarten to fifth grade from 10 a.m. to noon, Monday through Friday, April 14-18 at the Clearfield Community Center, 730 Hopkins Road.
