Seminar addresses online dangers

Children have "online" lives that parents and guardians know little about. Local FBI Supervisory Special Agent Holly Hubert will speak to Sweet Home School District residents to educate them about sexual predators, child pornographers, victims and victimization, warning signs, and social networking sites.

During this presentation, parents will learn about the dangers children and teens may encounter online, the characteristics of Internet predators, why children are targets and, how Internet safety resources can help families prevent online victimization.

Children, 14 years and older, may attend with an adult. The seminar will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 12 at Sweet Home Middle School auditorium 4150 Maple Road, Amherst.

Child care will be available for school age children only, by town of Amherst Youth Child Care Board YES Program.
