County employee charged with selling prescription drugs

An employee of the Erie County Home Energy Assistance Program, was arrested March 7 for allegedly selling prescription medications in the program's office.

Erie County Sheriff Timothy Howard reported that Howard A. Korman, 43, of Williamsville, was arrested by Detective Michael Dalfonso, after he was reportedly observed selling several hydrocodone tablets to another employee.

Korman was charged with criminal sale of a narcotic drug, a class B felony, and criminal possession of a controlled substance, a class A misdemeanor. He has been remanded to the Erie County Holding Center, pending his arraignment in Buffalo City Court.

Dalfonso was assisted in the investigation by deputies Gary Mosier and Robert Paas, who are assigned to the Erie County Office Building detail.
