All family members must be present to renew resident ID card The Town of Amherst Recreation Department has implemented a new ID card system that will require residents to have their photos retaken. "We have updated our system," said recreation supervisor Laura Ehrenreich, adding that when the process is completed, it will be more effective. The Recreation Department will not be issuing ID cards on Tuesday, March 18 to allow for the computer upgrades to take place. Residents also need to be aware that when renewing their cards, all members must attend to have new photos taken. Those who renewed after Jan. 1, 2008 are not affected. "The new system won't input the photos, so they have to be retaken," Ehrenreich said. ID cards can be purchased at the Recreation Department, Amherst Pepsi Center, 1615 Amherst Manor Drive, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday. ID cards are for Amherst residents only. The cost is $5, check or cash. Proof of residency is required. A driver's license is proof for an adult, and a parent's driver's license and birth certificate for children. ID cards are used for instructional recreation programs. Program packets are available at the Recreation Department offices, and information is available at www. amherst. ny. us. For information, call 631-7132. |
