Peter V. Burakowski and Kara M. Fitzgerald

Sharon and Kerry Fitzgerald of Eden announce the engagement of their daughter, Kara Michelle Fitzgerald, to Peter Victor Burakowski, son of Patricia and Paul Burakowski of Orchard Park.

Miss Fitzgerald graduated from Eden Junior/Senior High School in 1999. She received a degree in psychology/secondary education from Geneseo State College in 2003 and a master's degree in social work from the University at Buffalo in 2007. She is a social worker at Lakeshore Behavioral Health.

Her fiance graduated from Orchard Park High School in 2000. He received a degree in management and international business from Canisius College in 2004. He is a communications manager at Buffalo and Erie County Historical Society.

An October 2008 wedding is planned at Christ the King Chapel.
