Canisius offers 'Lean Six Sigma' courses at college's Amherst center

The Canisius College Center for Professional Development will offer Lean Six Sigma classes, which provide participants with organizational leadership skills that can be applied in any company.

The three courses, which will be held at the college's Center at Amherst, 300 Corporate Parkway, include:

• Leading Effective Cultural Change, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, March 31. This program introduces participants to a training model to manage effective cultural change and ensure objectives are achieved. Cost is $350.

• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 1-4, April 23-25 and May 14-16. Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to lead and support efforts to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of their organization. In addition, participants will learn to identify and implement changes aimed at reduction of waste, cost, time and variation while increasing customer and client satisfaction. Court fee is $3,500.

• Lean Coordinator Certification, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 27-30, June 11-13 and June 25-27. This program is designed for organizations that want to develop a core group of highly capable, in-house change agents. Participants will receive training and one-on-one mentoring, which will enable them to tackle complex problems and deliver impressive bottom-line results. Course fee is $2,950.
