Blue Sabres defeat Black, 6-1, in postseason opener

The Micron Blue Sabres opened the playoffs with a 6-1 victory over the Black Sabres at the Pepsi Center.

The Blue Sabres were led by Jeffrey Cummins (three goals) and goaltender Timmy Jones, who turned away several tough scoring chances by the Black team.

Also scoring for the Blue Sabres were Otto Bergmann, Mathew Barralli and Michael DeMarco. Strong defensive efforts were turned in by Patrick Brady, Gunar Weppner and Kevin McGraw.

The Black team was led by Tommy Peers, who scored their only goal, goalie Sammy Latore, and Brian Cannon, Alex Stanley and Joseph Indelcato.
