Diver Arcara places third at states

Williamsville North junior diver Chris Arcara placed third in the New York State Federation and fourth in the New York State Public High School Athletic Association at last weekend's state meet in Long Island. Arcara scored 4:34.90 points.

North senior Michael Lin came in 12th in the Federation and 13th in the public school in the 200 individual medley with a time of 1:58.38.

Lin also swam a time of 48.56 in the 100 freestyle for 14th in the Federation and 16th among public schools.

Senior Mike Burns tied for 31st in the 100 breast in 1:03.05.

Williamsville East junior Matt Geiger placed 15th in the 100 back in the Federation and public school. He also went 2:04.60 in the 200 IM but did not qualify for finals.

Senior Kane Hsieh finished 47th in the 100 breast in 1:04.26.
