Joseph A. Delmonte Sr., former town building inspector
Joseph A. Delmonte Sr., 86, of Getzville died Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2008.

Delmonte

Born in Buffalo on Jan. 17, 1922, he was a town of Amherst building inspector for 15 years and owned and operated an antique and collectible shop for 24 years.

Mr. Delmonte was a carpenter's mate second class in the Navy from June 4, 1940 to July 11, 1946.

He was a member of the Amherst Auxiliary Police for 20 years, was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans and a member of the Holy Name Society at St. Gregory the Great Church.

Mr. Delmonte is survived by his wife, Anne; daughters Elizabeth Joseph and Laura Kwiatkowski; son Joseph Jr.; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Services were held on Monday, March 3 at St. Gregory the Great Church.
