Amherst native to perform with modern dance company

Lisa Bavisotto, an undergraduate dance major at Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania, will perform on March 29 and 30 in Buffalo with the Eclectic Dance Company on the third floor of the Alt Theatre, 255 Great Arrow Ave.

Bavisotto, who was born in Buffalo and grew up in Amherst, has been dancing with artistic director Kathryn Kuczka of E.da.co. since fall 2006. Bavisotto began her dance training at David DeMarie Dance studio and continued with Dyan Mulvey, Maureen Junke and Stacey Cohn of Lockport. She is a graduate of The Buffalo Academy of the Sacred Heart.

A member of SRU's student-run dance company, Slippery Rock University Dance Theatre, she has performed in various concerts at the university.

E.da.co.'s performance, titled "Eclectic," will showcase the company's versatility and originality. Bavisotto will dance in the group piece "Business as Usual," the trio "The Un-Extinguished," the duet "Clink Clank Clunk" and a self-choreographed solo "Metalictouch."
