Undetermined amount of drugs taken from Sheridan Drive pharmacy

Amherst police are investigating a burglary at the Walgreens at 3605 Sheridan Drive, at the corner of Millersport Highway.

Alarms sounded at 4 a.m. Saturday, and patrols responded to find an outside door pried open, as well as the drug cabinet in the pharmacy.

Police determined that controlled substances are missing, however the total amount was unknown at press time.

The surveillance camera showed two men wearing all black clothing.

Police noted that the suspects were able to get the drugs quickly and leave.

In another weekend incident, police are investigating a robbery in the 400 block of Allenhurst Drive.

The victim was packing a U-Haul truck at 9:30 p.m. Sunday when he was approached by a man, who pressed an object, believed to be a gun, to the victim's back. The suspect demanded the keys and left with the truck and its contents.

The suspect was wearing green camouflage pants and a black skull cap. His race is unknown, and he is described as 6 feet tall and weighing 160 pounds.

The truck had not been recovered at press time. Anyone with information on either incident is asked to call the Amherst police at 689-1311.
