Stampede reports woman down

Friday, Feb. 22
• Pop machines at a business on Main Street were broken into and money was taken.
• Police were called to the salt barn on Sweet Home Road where a complainant requested a worker be removed. The worker said he wouldn't leave without getting paid and threatened to tear out the drywall he had installed.
• A Barberry Lane resident called police to report a neighbor leaving their garbage can in the street and the complainant wants them advised.
• A woman was down on the ground on Grover Cleveland Highway, reported by a Stampede Bus driver. She had slipped and fell on some ice.
• An East Summerset Lane resident reported she just returned home from work and found all her furniture was taken. She said it was a friend who did it.
Saturday, Feb. 23
• Police responded to a one-car accident on Avalon Drive where the man involved was outside the vehicle, kicking and throwing things around. He had brushed his car up against a parked car.
• A Shetland Drive resident called police because he was locked out of his house and he wanted help getting in. His father in-law responded instead.
• A woman called police from Smith Road to say her friend's father wanted her removed from the residence. All parties were advised.
• On Denrose Drive, a vehicle had the battery stolen from it overnight.
• A woman called police from Niagara Falls Boulevard to report a truck trying to bump her car, and when she yelled at the driver of the truck, he showed her a private part of the male anatomy.
Sunday, Feb. 24
• A resident on Sundridge Drive reported a large, loud party was taking place next door. Police responded to find a group playing video games. They were told to quiet down.
• An employee of a coffee shop on Main Street called police about a suspicious male patron in the store. She said he was just having coffee. She was advised to call 9-1-1 if an emergency occurs.
• On Ayrault Drive, a male relative showed up drunk, threatened to fight the complainant's father, then left.
• A car dealership on Maple Road reported a highly intoxicated man who was unable to walk.
Monday, Feb. 25
• A South Ellicott Creek Road resident was concerned someone broke into her barn because she found a hole in the rear wall. Police believed it was caused by a small animal.
• A complaint came from a bank on Sheridan Drive that there was a suspicious person running in front of the building. No problem was found; the suspicious person told police he was trying to get to the bank before it closed.
• A Larch Road resident complained that a neighbor was outside working on his car with the music blaring. Police found very little noise and advised the resident anyway.
Tuesday, Feb. 26
• A car was reportedly parked on top of a snow bank on Transit Road.
• A 9-1-1 call was placed from a Campbell Boulevard residence. On call-back a 10-year-old said he was home alone and was dialing foolish numbers for fun.
Wednesday, Feb. 27 • A tenant of an apartment complex called to report the building superintendent had been drinking and she didn't feel comfortable with him having keys to her apartment. Police advised.
A suspicious person was reported on Sheridan Drive. Reportedly the person was standing on the shoulder of the road with a plastic bag on their head; the call didn't know the person's gender.
Thursday, Jan. 28
• A disturbance was reported at University Village on American Campus Drive. Reportedly there were people wrestling, which is part of an ongoing problem.
• A suspicious person was reported at a bank on Niagara Falls Boulevard. Reportedly the man was staring at the walls and the floors before asking for information on a savings account. He was also looking all over the bank.
• A salon employee on Evans Street reported a dog had been locked in a car for more than an hour. The dog did not appear in distress, and the vehicle was gone when police arrived.
