American Cancer Society names 'Look Good, Feel Better' trainer

The American Cancer Society's Look Good…Feel Better program has appointed Yvette LeClerc as the Western New York area trainer.

The Look Good…Feel Better program is a free service for women undergoing active cancer treatment. Through this program, the women learn techniques to restore their self-image and cope with appearance-related side effects.

Certified beauty professionals provide makeup, skin care, nail care, and head coverings. The program is a partnership between the American Cancer Society, the Personal Care Products Council and the National Cosmetology Association.

LeClerc has been a volunteer for the Look Good...Feel Better program for more than five years. In her new role as area trainer, she will be responsible for conducting program certification and information classes for training volunteer cosmetologists.

"I am very excited to be appointed to this position with the American Cancer Society and look forward to working with fresh faces that will bring new energy to this program," LeClerc said.

Any cosmetologists interested in volunteering should contact Nancy Hanavan at the American Cancer Society at 689-6982, ext. 106.

"If you're a licensed cosmetologist and are looking to volunteer, this is a perfect opportunity," said LeClerc. "There's nothing more gratifying than being able to give a woman a moment of joy while going through a very difficult time in her life."
