Outstanding seniors plan to study pre-med, pre-law
by KATE FASSL AND COLIN KNOER

Ali Dixon
Each month, the Williamsville North High School Student Council recognizes two outstanding members of the senior class. In February, the selected students were Ali Dixon and Alex Ullrich.

Dixon, daughter of Amy and Michael Dixon of East Amherst, is a member of the National Honor Society and treasurer of North's chapter of the National Math Honor Society. She is also a member of the Senior Class Steering Committee, DECA and Inter-High Council, a group of students representing all three district high schools. Dixon is also a member of Student Council, and was instrumental in the creation of this year's homecoming pep rally video.

Outside of school, Dixon has volunteered at Kaleida Health for four years. She describes herself as a "huge Sabres fan" and also enjoys music, baking and playing ping-pong.

Dixon plans to attend Miami University in Ohio and major in pre-med, and she would also like to study abroad.

Ullrich, son of Molly and Carl Ullrich of Williamsville, has been a member of Student Council for four years. He is a member of the National Honor Society and competed in DECA for three years. As a junior, he was presented with the Edward M. Snyder Memorial Award, an award presented to a junior who humbly strives to achieve personal best through work ethic and noble conduct.

Alex Ullrich
He played varsity golf for North for four years and won the Jerry Sawicki Coach's Award for Excellence. He has also played varsity basketball for the past two years and is captain this year.

Outside of school, Ullrich volunteers at Maple West Elementary gym classes and is a volunteer coach and referee for the JCC Youth Basketball League. He is employed at Steven J. Baum, PC.

Ullrich plans to attend Michigan State University to study political science, with a minor in pre-law.
