Bantam Minor Bisons ready for playoffs

The Buffalo Bisons Bantam Minors defeated the Southtown Stars, 3-2, last week, then dropped an identical score game to Tonawanda to set the stage for the playoffs this weekend.

Alex Fritz (Lucas Buscemi, Brad Martynowicz), David Arthur (Buscemi, Josh Little), Joshua Shupe (Graig Knowlton, Martynowicz) and Buscemi (Arthur, James Brand) tallied goals for the Bisons.

Two of the Tonawanda goals came on the power play, and it looks like Tonawanda will be the opponent for the Bisons in the first round of the WNYAHL Playoffs.

Connor Naughton and Jim Basil will man the nets for the Bisons.

The Bisons finished league play with a record of 16-7-1 for 33 points, good for fifth out of the 13 teams. League leaders Cazenovia (21-1-2, 44 points), Southtown Stars (18-5-1, 37 points), Webster (15-5-4, 34 points), Tonawanda (15-5-4, 34 points), Bisons, and Bud Bakewell (13-8-3, 29 points) round out the field.
