Red Wings, Rangers skate to 3-3 tie

The Squirt playoffs began on Feb. 10 with the Rangers skating to a 3-3 tie against the Red Wings.

The Rangers' Christian Baran scored one minute into the game. The Red Wings returned the favor 15 seconds into the second period as Tim Kreuz (Hunter Noll, Nick Vermilye) finished off a play that began as a faceoff win.

The Rangers roared back with goals by Ben Glajch and Joe Tomczak.

The Red Wings scored early in the third as Kreuz (Peter Gossels, Andrew Goss) scored.

Hunter Noll tied it with about a minute left from Kreuz and Goss.

Red Wings 2, White Sabres 1

The Red Wings dominated early with goalie Joe Meosky keeping his team in the game. After a strong defensive play by Michael Kreuz and Adam Mills, Peter Hillery beat Joe Meosky.

Red Wings goalie Joe Burke was equally impressive as the White Sabres tried to beat him high. Four minutes into the second period, Tim Kreuz broke free on a pass from Marisa Notaro and Quinn Lacey and his shot found net.

The White Sabres scored early in the third when Matthew Terrence finished off a pretty passing play from Maxwell McArthur.

Goalies for each team played well.
