Sweet Home takes 13th at sectionals, Clark wins team tourney

It was by the luck of the draw that the Sweet Home boys bowling team crossed with Cheektowaga Central in the morning block of the Section VI Championships held last Thursday at Thruway Lanes.

McDonald's brother-in-law, Jerry Carroll coaches for the Warriors. Cheektowaga placed second after the morning block and Sweet Home was seventh.

Captain Aaron Klein led the Panthers with very consistent games of 228-225-205 for a 658 morning block. In the afternoon, Klein had games of 236-232 but struggled with a 144 in his final game. Klein had a 612 for the afternoon, totaling 1270 for the day.

Senior Shaun Louis had games of 204-206-237 for a 647 morning block. He totaled 1177 for the day.

Ryan Clark had games of 226 and 225, and Ryan Kaminski shot games of 207 and 222.

The Panthers finished 13th in team scoring.

A day earlier, Clark defeated Ryan Kaminski, 205-147, to win the annual King of the Hill tournament held at Manor Lanes II.

Sweet Home girls coach Jim Russo presented Clark with a trophy.

Clark defeated Ryan Kaminski in the very first match, but Kaminski was the highest of the losers with a game of 217 to move on.

Clark next met captain Aaron Klein and defeated him 235-166. Alex Von Langen was Clark's next opponent and Clark won 190-153.

Meanwhile, Kaminski made it through the field by defeating Steve Daniels-Robinson, 214-163 and Klein, 188-166. That set up the final match of the two Ryans.

Clark started off the week with games of 181-216 and 218 for a 615 series at ECIC Roll-offs last Monday at Thruway Lanes.
