Williamsville South's youthful girls indoor track team continued to improve with a second place finish at the Section VI Team Championships last Saturday at Fredonia State College.
South took second with 78 points and placed in 11 out of the 16 events.
South led from the beginning of the meet until the last three events when West Seneca West took the lead and won with 89 points.
"We don't have as much team depth as other teams but these athletes are not one dimensional," said South coach Sam Hasan. "They can run the sprints or mid-distance and each learns at least one field event. By doing that, it makes it fun for them so they don't have to do the same thing all of the time. The great thing is they are young (only four seniors)."
