Penberthy's hat trick lifts Pee Wee Rangers over Blue Sabres in playoff tilt

Tyler Penberthy's hat trick and smothering defense led the Pee Wee Rangers to a 4-3 win over the Blue Sabres in the first game of the playoffs for each team.

Penberthy scored the game winner with 9:24 left in the third period and also added an assist on David Hnat's second period power-play tally.

Lucas Kindron earned two Ranger helpers while goalie Michael Heyden thwarted many Sabre scoring chances.

Strong two-way play was contributed by Nick Cuomo, Trevor Browning, John Huyler and Greg Sibick.

The Sabres were led by goaltender Matt Fox and a goal and assist by Tom Garrity.
