Squirt Devils beat Sharks; post tie, win at Friendship Tournament The Squirt Devils beat the Sharks, 3-1, on Saturday. The Squirt Devils' Frankie Bodami slammed in the first playoff goal at 3:06 of the first period. Tommy Heyden scored the second goal at 5:18 of the second. Devils' defensemen Ryan House, Taylor Malesky, Justin Presutti, Nick Daigler, Alex Gervase, and goalie Nick Molnar were flawless until 10:42 of the third when Neal Greiner scored for the Sharks. Sharks goalie Amit Gulati was awesome between the pipes. With 14 seconds remaining, Gianni Bordonaro was interfered with on his way to what should have been an empty-net goal. Devils tie Canadians The Squirt Devils played an awesome game on both sides of the puck in the first game of the Burlington Tournament and kept the pressure on Canadians goalie Kyle Henderson all day. At 4:12 of the second period, Boston Collins of the Canadians scored, assisted by Ash Gulati. Play went back and forth in a fierce battle between both teams until finally at 7:24 of the third period, Devil Jonah Held slammed in a beautiful unassisted tying goal to end the game 1-1. Devils' Ryan House, Max Ferro, Rex Koepen Alex Gervase, and goalie Nick Molnar had an exceptional game. Devils' Bodami bags hat trick The Devils were on fire in the second game of the Friendship Tournament which turned out to be an 8-3 win over the Canadians. Frankie Bodami (three goals, assist); Nick Daigler (goal, assist); Tommy Heyden (goal, assist); Gianni Bordonaro (goal); and Jonah Held (goal) scored for the Devils. Assists were made by Sal DiNatale, Jimmy O'Neill and Calab Cammarata. Taylor Malesky was given the game puck for his exceptional defensive play. |
