Amherst girls finish with victory

The Amherst girls bowling team (2-10) bowled its final match of the season last Thursday and beat Cheektowaga, 5-2, at Airport Lanes.

The Lady Tigers' "A" team, anchored by senior Carolyn Trabert, who averaged 172 for the match, won the first and third game and grabbed total pins, 1797 to 1731. Sophomore Kailey D. anchored the "B" team and averaged 152 and took their second and third game and total pins, 1531-1441.

The Lady Tigers will be losing four bowlers for next season as seniors Kristin Ortman, Carol Powell, Mallorie Saleh, and Trabert will be graduating this spring.

Amherst competed in ECIC Rolloffs on Tuesday but results were unavailable before The Bee went to press. They will compete at the Section VI Championships at 9 a.m. on Friday at Thruway Lanes.
