Woman robbed in garage

After parking her car in a garage in the 400 block of Allenhurst Road, a woman was confronted by a man brandishing a handgun.

Amherst police described the man as being very short. He approached the woman at approximately 6 p.m. Saturday as she exited her car.

He entered the vehicle and took her purse and another bag, containing personal property.

The woman went into the alley where the man proceeded to push her, knocking her to the ground, and then fled.

The K-9 unit from Niagara County Sheriff's Department responded and was able to track a scent to Princeton Avenue. Police would not elaborate as the investigation continued.

The man was wearing a black ski mask, a black bubble coat and dark pants.
