Robert W. Smith and Laura E. Wanamaker

Barbara Rupiec of Amherst and Robert Wanamaker Jr. of Newstead announce the engagement of their daughter, Laura E. Wanamaker, to Robert W. Smith, son of Samantha Aydt of Houser, Idaho and Gregory Smith of North Tonawanda.

Miss Wanamaker graduated from Amherst Central High School in 2000. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education from St. Bonaventure University in 2004 and a Master of Science degree in special education from Buffalo State College in 2007. She is a teacher at Harris Hill Elementary School.

Her fiance graduated from Republic High School in 1998. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in criminal justice from Hilbert College in 2002. He is a Sea Ray boat dealer at Smith Boys Marine.

An August 2008 wedding is planned at the Botanical Gardens in Buffalo.
