Kirsten M. Knorr and Michael J. Kane

Virginia and Douglas Knorr of Williamsville announce the engagement of their daughter, Kirsten Marie Knorr, to Michael John Kane, son of Ruth and John Kane of Hudson, Ohio.

Miss Knorr graduated from Williamsville South High School in 1995 and received a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Rochester Institute of Technology in 1999. She is a senior manager with Deloitte & Touche LLP in Wilton, Conn.

Her fiance graduated from Hudson High School in 1995. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in computer engineering from RIT in 2000 and a Master of Science degree in electrical engineering from RIT in 2003. He also received a Master of Arts degree in statistics at Yale University in New Haven, Conn., in 2007 and is pursuing a doctoral degree in statistics at Yale.

An August 2008 wedding is planned.
