• SYLVIA - The Towne Players will hold auditions for Buffalo-born playwright A.R. Gurney's "Sylvia," directed by Kathleen Weber. Auditions will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, Feb. 19 and 20 at the Sheridan-Parkside Communit y Center, 169 Sheridan-Parkside Drive, Town of Tonawanda. • ONE- ACTS - Auditions for two one-act plays presented by Starry Night Theatre Inc. will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, Feb. 18 and 19 at the Ghostlight Theatre, 170 Schenck St., North Tonawanda. The one-acts for the 2008 one-act series will be "Art" by Yasmina Reza, directed by Chris Fire, and "The Simple Truth," by Carl Allensworth, directed by Colleen Neumann. • HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL - Auditions will be held for "High School Musical" from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, Feb. 19 and 20 at the Lancaster Opera House, 21 Central Ave., Lancaster. For an appointment, call 683-1776 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

• DARIEN LAKE - Darien Lake will hold performer auditions Thursday, Feb. 21 through Sunday, Feb. 24. Auditions will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21 at Brockport State College; 5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 22 at Buffalo State College; 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 23 at Fredonia College; and 10 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 24 at Niagara University. Singers, dancers, actors and percussionists are sought to perform in four shows this summer: "Rhythmnicity," "And The Answer Is," "The Lost Treasure of Adventure Isle" and "Cirque Nouveau." Performers should prepare to sing two contrasting vocal selections, no longer than 16 bars each, best showing their personality and vocal range. Applicants will need either sheet music, CD or cassette tape. Candidates will also be taught a short dance combination and should be dressed appropriately.
