Michael Demarco broke things open with two goals on one shift. Redding answered with his second and Ryan Mitchell scored on a wrist shot. Adam Helfman scored to draw the Blue Sabres even.

The Red Sabres got going when Paul Cartone (Conner Baetzhold) and Redding completed his hat trick.

Blue Sabre Matthew Barrali scored but the Red Sabres pulled away on goals from Jacob Puckhaber and Cartone.
