Buffalo In-Line Hockey Group's winter season gets rolling Nick Antoniadis is a 12-year-old playing for the Gladiators in the Buffalo In-line Hockey League Group Junior division. Antoniadis, an Amherst native, accomplished a league first this past Saturday when he scored the first three goals of the game all within the first 1:29. Antoniadis' play was the impetus that his team needed to post a 7-5 win over the Capitals and keep the Gladiators undefeated and in a tie for first in the division. In other junior division action: Sharks 6, Maroons 2 Adam Terragnolli's goal two minutes into the third period broke a 2-2 tie and gave the Sharks a win. Terragnolli completed his hat trick some seven minutes later. Knights 7, Penguins 1 Kevin Krawczyck (Tonawanda) led the way offensively and Mike Vaccaro (Amherst) led defensively but the entire Knights team showed up for this one. Goaltender Justin Smith played well in the victory. Devils 10, Orangemen 6
The Devils stayed undefeated and in a tie for the top spot with an offensive outburst led by Vicram Goel and Ryan Owarczyck. Jacob Schrieber scored four times for the Orangemen. The Pandas got nine goals from John Lyons and Christian Curtola, including two in the shootout, for the win. Chad Loughran had five goals for the Vikings and David Campuzano tallied two goals and four assists. Blackhawks 7, Stealth 5 The Hawks got an early goal from Christian Knoell and took sole possession of first place with this win. Justin Swan (Tonawanda) had five tallies for the winners. Red Snappers 12, Snipers 3 Taylor Setlock and Scott Sciolino, both from Tonawanda, were the driving force in this game. They scored 11 of the 12 goals for the Snappers. Warriors 8, Crush 4 The Warriors got goals from five different players and this team effort, along with Tyler Anderson (Tonawanda) in net, paved the way. Firestorm 6, Mulecats 5 A Brad Owens (Tonawanda) hat trick and the netminding of Ron Carslisle (Kenmore) were the story.
