Paul G. Denning Sr., tool-and-die maker

Paul G. Denning Sr., 84, of Williamsville, died on Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2008 at ElderWood Health Care at Heathwood in Williamsville.

Born in Smethport, Pa., he graduated from Smethport Area High School in 1941.

Mr. Denning was a tool-and-die maker who worked for Bell Aircraft, Curtis Wright, Remington Rand and Trico Products of Buffalo, from which he retired.

He was a member of the United Auto Workers Union. He was known for gardening and landscaping and had won civic awards for beautification.

Mr. Denning was predeceased by his wife of 61 years, Arvilla, in 2006. He is survived by three sons, Paul G. Jr., of Williamsville; Daryl B., of Corning; and Roger G., of Pendleton; one daughter, Janice E., of Seneca Falls; two brothers, Leroy, of Clarence Center, and Bruce, of Cortland, Ohio; two sisters, Evelyn Ross, of Aiken, S.C., and Ruth Sacher, of San Juan Capistrano, Calif.; and four grandchildren.

Services were held on Saturday, Feb. 2 at the Switzer Funeral Home in Port Allegany, Pa.
