Maple East, Maple West, Forest, Country Parkway, Dodge and Heim elementary schools had fourth-graders participate in the Erie County Music Educators Association's Elementary All-County Solo Festival at Depew High School on Jan. 5. Participants were Ethan Medler, Hanna Bianchi, Kayleigh Vilardo, Baily Troyer, Krissy Roesler, Sarah Chamberlin, Nat Mancuso, Ann Han, Tim Han, Connor Lin, Caroline Wang, and Jonathan Kim.

Cardinal O'Hara will offer a driver's education course in the spring. These courses are open to all area high school students. The 8-week session will be held from March 31 to May 29. For more information or to obtain an application phone 874-1653 or visit www. cardinalohara. com.

Megan Weaver has been named to the dean's list for the fall 2007 semester at Ohio Wesleyan University. She is the daughter of Kathryn and Thomas Weaver of Amherst.

St. Mary's High School in Lancaster recently named the winners of scholarships to attend the school during the 2008-09 school year. Emily Beilman of Williamsville received the $750 Service/Academic Scholarship. In addition to Beilman, the admissions committee also accepted the following students as members of the class of 2012: Williamsville residents Jessica Clark, Daniel Cristler, Kristen Kyaw, Brian Nguyen and Matthew Seep, as well as Patrick Ryan of East Amherst.
