Village dentist offers solution for missing teeth

Those who are missing teeth or currently wearing partials or dentures might be candidates for mini dental implants.

Mini implants are ultra-small implant screws that are placed in the jaw using a nonsurgical, minimally invasive procedure. Initially these implants were designed to support fixed dental bridges to replace missing teeth.

Thousands of implants have been completed with a high success rate, Dr. Maria E. Giglia Pieri said.

Patients begin with a consultation, and a single tooth replacement could be accomplished in the next appointment. Adjacent natural teeth do not need to be ground down, and bone grafts, as well as lengthy healing times, are not required, as can be the case in conventional implants.

To learn more about mini implants, call Pieri for an appointment at 689-1600. Her office is located at 6796 Main St., Williamsville.
